NEU, GROSS, GRÜN - 100 Jahre Architekturmoderne im Berliner Südwesten

100 years ago, Berlin became the metropolis as we know it: In April 1920 the Prussian state assembly decided the foundation of the new municipality of Groß-Berlin (Greater Berlin). For this purpose, eight towns, 59 rural communities and 27 Gutsbezirke (estate districts) were merged - the onset for the development of the metropolis. The district office of Berlin Steglitz-Zehlendorf celebrates the jubilee with an exhibition. Six key concepts represent the dynamic metropolization: NEU (new), GROSS (great), GRÜN (green), GEMEINSCHAFT (community), BEWEGT (moving) and ARBEIT (work). Assigned to them are twelve prominent buildings in the district. They connect urban planning and architecture, the new city-dweller with his environment.

Nicola Bröcker, Celina Kress und Simone Oelker (team [BEST] projekte für baukultur und stadt) realisieren innovative Formate im Bereich Architektur, Städtebau und Kunst. Sie sind Kuratorinnen der gleichnamigen Ausstellung.
